Travv presents at the Annual Veterinary Diagnostic Conference in Zhengzhou, China

Travv was on the program at the AVDC 2026 veterinary diagnostics conference in Zhengzhou, China this June, where CEO Derick Whitley, DVM, DACVP gave an invited plenary session lecture entitled “Building the AI Ecosystem for Clinical Veterinary Medicine”. The presentation gave an update on the status of AI in veterinary medicine in the US and argued that the two barriers gating widespread AI adoption are trust (reliability and validation) and integration into clinical workflows and software (PIMS), not the models themselves. He then used diagnostics and imaging as a proof case for how both validation and workflow integration must be solved before AI tools become practical in a veterinary hospital.

Travv also sponsored the Companion Animal and Equine Disease Diagnostics Mini-Symposium where Dr. Whitley gave another talk entitled “Validation of Deep Learning-Enabled Software to Measure Vertebral Heart Size and Vertebral Left Atrial Size in Dogs”. This presentation covered a validation study of the VHS and VLAS AI models now part of Travv’s diagnostic platform. This study compared the software’s measurements against those of a trained human observer, finding that AI measurements closely matched the human reference standard.

The conference brought together diagnosticians, researchers, and industry from around the world, with a strong focus on new technologies and AI in veterinary medicine. Travv was glad to take part and share its work with the global diagnostics community.
