John Craig, PhD joins Travv as Director of Machine Learning

John has a fascinating career that started in robotics, where he wrote the leading university textbook on robotics — Introduction to Robotics (Pearson) — used for the past 35 years and translated into 12 languages. He earned his PhD in Electrical Engineering from Stanford, won the robotics industry’s Engelberger Award, and was a member of NASA’s Mars Rover team at JPL.
For the past 25 years, he has built software and AI for veterinary imaging and has served as a respected voice on the ethical and appropriate use of AI in the industry, serving on AI committees for ACVR, AVMA, and AAEP.
John will be instrumental in building out the kind of AI Travv envisions: smart applications and tools across multiple diagnostic modalities, in the workflows veterinarians already use, meeting the actual needs of the hospital.
